This building was designed by the engineer Severino Crott in 1928 and inaugurated in 1930 as the headquarters of the House of the Fascist Party. A special commission was set up for approval of the project, of which Chino Chini and his son, Tito, then director of the San Lorenzo Furnaces, was also part.
It was, in fact, their manufacturing which realized the great Eagle in relief in ceramics and polychromatic glass still preserved on the façade, conforming to the severe taste imposed by the regime who soon afterwards would even forbid external decoration. Unfortunately the decoration of the premises inside the circle which accommodated the cinema, also realized in materials of the Furnaces, which, on the other hand, was described in the local press as a sumptuous environment, “a wonderful harmony of lights and colours”, was lost.
